Reporting Results in Factorial Between-Subjects ANOVA
(3 of 4)
An Age (2) x Type of stimuli (2) analysis of variance was used to
test differences between means for significance. Figure 1 shows the
mean percent correct on the recognition test as a function of age and
type of stimuli. An inspection of figure 1 reveals that the effect of
age was much larger for the word stimuli than it was for the
pictorial stimuli. The difference was reflected in a significant Age
x Type of stimuli interaction,
F(1,28) = 6.37,
p =
0.018. It is also evident from figure 1 that, overall, 12-year olds
performed better than 8-year olds,
F(1,28) = 9.35,
p
< 0.01.
